About Klaas⋄Live

emerging intelligenceA long time ago life emerged from lifeless matter and formed cells.

Less time ago, but still quite a while back, these cells formed gangs called multi-cellular organisms. To do so, these cells had to identify themselves as belonging to the same gang and fight off those who didn’t. A joint purpose so to speak. Each cell specialised, and communicated and collaborated with the others. Gang wars ensued which we commonly refer to as evolution.

More recently some of these multi-cellular organisms, particularly humanoids, ganged up to form organisations. To do so, these multi-cellular organisms had to identify themselves as belonging to the same organisation and fight off those who didn’t. A joint purpose so to speak. Each multi-cellular organism specialised, and communicated and collaborated with the others in the organisation. A successful enterprise indeed, giving rise to the evolution of cultures, civilisations, corporations and, most importantly: technology.

Will evolution (matter ↔ life ↔ culture ↔ technology) stop at technology and be replaced by something more purposeful and more respectful of all its component parts? Survival of the fittest has had its chance and we owe our existence to her (or him). To improve upon evolution we need to come up with something smarter—not Someone; we already tried that. That, I think, is why we are here.

I was born in Holland over 50 years ago amidst two sisters and three brothers. Our lovely parents thought the world, rather than school, would teach us about life. Travelling I did and do, and Klaas⋄Live is my journal.
